HWCC will select the teams based on the strongest XI available for all competitive matches. We will however take into consideration the development and progression of our Juniors within selection meetings, to ensure that there is a clear pathway for those ready to play competitive senior cricket for HWCC.
Team selection is at the discretion of the team Captains. Any issues regarding selection are to be directed to the Ladies Captain/Head of Women’s & Girls Cricket.
- Selection is to be made weekly and will be based on variety of factors including availability, form & attendance at training.
- Due to us having one hard ball team and one softball team, junior selection within those teams will be at the discretion of the Ladies Captain/Head of Women’s & Girls Cricket.
- Junior match fees (£10 per match for all junior members) will be payable upon selection.
- Players agree to play for any side the Captain and Head of Women’s & Girls Cricket select them in - as all players (including juniors) play for the club as a whole and not one specific team.
- All players are must provide availability for Sunday matches by 8pm on Tuesday evenings
- Teams are selected on Wednesday with teams released by Thursday (Friday latest) prior to a Sunday
- All players must confirm selection on ClubSports365 by Friday 12pm in advance of a Sunday match
- Any player to make them self unavailable after selection without good reason (Injury, work etc) will be given a one time warning and may be deemed unselectable for future matches.
- For midweek matches, the captain will outline the requirements for selection timings.
- Players are expected to train with the squads each week with a minimum of 50% training attendance on a rolling 4 week basis for all players under 50 years old – Exceptions to be discussed with the Club Captain/Head of Senior Cricket.
- Senior and Junior players are only able to play competitive cricket for High Wycombe Cricket Club in League and Cup competitions in which HWCC compete in and are not able to play for other clubs unless explicitly agreed upon in advance. If a player was to play a competitive match for another club in any league or cup match without prior approval an automatic 15 day match ban will be issued per match for another club, if there are multiple instances of this breach, this would be brought to the disciplinary committee where a ban length or membership termination would be determined.
- Juniors parents are responsible for getting their child to and from matches, senior players are able to help with lifts on occasion, but parents are expected to be able to take their children to and from matches, if this is not feasible in advance of the match or as a whole for the season, please discuss with the Captain or Head of Women’s & Girls Cricket.
