Managing Children Away From The Home Club


This policy covers managing children on away fixtures and is based on ECB guidelines. This policy applies to all young people who are under the age of 18.

  • A team manager is appointed who will run the away fixture.
  • The team manager will communicate the following to the parents where relevant:
  • Details of the venue, time and meeting point of the fixture.
  • Arrangements for food and drink.
  • Costs, fees and equipment.
  • Name of the Cheltenham Cricket Club non-travelling contact.
  • The team manager will be in possession of emergency contact details and any medical information of the children taking part.
  • Cheltenham Cricket Club expects that away venues carry valid risk assessments and are safe for players, however the team manager will consider any safety issues present at the venue and inform the players of any risks.
  • The team manager is responsible for encouraging the children in the team to adhere to the Code of Conduct during the fixture. Parents and carers are expected to support the team manager in this respect.
  • The team manager will be responsible for ensuring that all children are collected by their adults after the fixture.
